<p>A hickey, also known as a &#8220;love bite&#8221; or &#8220;kiss mark,&#8221; is a bruise caused by sucking or biting on the skin. The suction causes the blood vessels under the skin to burst, resulting in a red or purple mark on the skin. Hickeys are typically found on the neck, but can also appear on other areas of the body such as the arm, breast, or thigh. They are often associated with romantic or sexual activity and can last for several days or up to two weeks.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How long does hickey last?</h2>



<p>Hickeys typically last for a few days to a couple of weeks. The exact duration of a hickey can vary depending on the severity of the bruise and an individual&#8217;s healing process. Hickeys can appear red or purple at first, and then turn brown or yellow as they heal. The discoloration is caused by blood that has leaked out of the broken blood vessels and into the surrounding tissue.</p>

<p>Depression can sometimes feel like a state of paralysis, one you cannot seem to get out of at the moment. Sometimes it makes you feel helpless and other times it may feel like you are in a never-ending sad mood. While depression may seem like something you won’t ever get out of; we are here to tell you that it isn’t impossible. Sure, having depression isn’t easy but there are many people who have come out of it, all you need is to understand your state and know what makes it feel better in those moments. Before we delve any further, let’s understand what depression really is.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Let&#8217;s Understand Depression</h2>



<p>Depression is a mental state that causes people to lose interest in regular activities and affects their mood, sleeping patterns, fatigue, ability to concentrate, and recurring bad thoughts. Many people who struggle with depression also have thoughts of death. The state of Depression can be triggered by an external situation or predisposition. The biggest thing with depression is to understand what you are going through and keep a track of the habits that make you feel like that and control them. <p>Depression can make you feel like you are not good at anything in this life. This means you need to find things you love, keep pursuing them and get better at them. You need to find goals you want to achieve and start working towards them. Now the biggest problem with goals is that people set goals that are unreasonable and unrealistic and then feel bad when they are not able to accomplish them. A great way to deal with this dilemma is setting goals that are realistic, achievable, and in your own control. Once you have done that, you need to break down your goals into simpler action steps. Once you do that, you’ll start seeing considerable results. And when you fail, remember to use that as a learning opportunity to see where you went wrong and make sure the same thing doesn’t happen again. This change in attitude from a judgmental one to a proactive one may take some practice, but it’s necessary.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>4. Schedule Activities- </strong></h3>



<p>If you sit around at home, you just end up giving your brain more time to overthink and find more reasons to be sad and depressed. A great way to get rid of thoughts of depression is by giving your mind something to think about. Try planning activities for yourself and spend more time outdoors. Give yourself some time to pick up hobbies each day. It’s also helpful to have a journal where you jot down all the things you are going to do and plan ahead for activities.</p>

<p>When you feel overwhelmed and not in control, being able to control one part of your life may seem relaxing; even if it&#8217;s sleep. Many people try solving their problems late at night when their brains are half asleep and then wonder why they can’t do anything properly. Instead, give your brain some rest and then try again the next day.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Treatment Of Depression</h2>



<p>Other than incorporating healthy life habits, people who have depression also need treatment like you would with a physical problem. The best way to deal with depression is by incorporating therapy along with the healthy habits mentioned above. It can be helpful to understand what triggered our depression. Once you find out what triggered your brain and led to depression you may start understanding your mind and the reason why you behave in a certain way. Therapy is not just good for depression but also for general mental well-being. Some common therapy methods used in depression treatment include:</p>

<p>Depression is diagnosable and treatable. While it may feel like the worst thing, knowing you can overcome it is half the battle. Because it is not something that is openly talked about many times, people end up suffering in silence. This will only make you isolate yourself more and you will dig an even deeper hole for yourself. Depression is a complicated illness and generally affects people differently. Hence, the only way to overcome it is by talking about it openly and finding a solution that works for you. <p>Did you know that the body induces vomiting to fight with these bacterias entering the body? To prevent you from getting sick with food poisoning or other dangerous diseases, throwing up can really be a great escape. The doctors firmly believe that sneezing and vomiting work the same way.</p>



<p>One sneezes when the germs are trying to enter the body through nasal passage and one vomits when the bacteria has entered the body through various mediums of consumption. It is strange how the practice of throwing up is frowned upon in the present scenario.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Significance of throwing up</h2>



<p>Throwing up is the most natural process of a human body and therefore, there is no need to be disgusted with it. Whenever one feels nausea, it is an indication of the body saying that there is something wrong with the stomach.</p>



<p>It is a biological mechanism which takes place when any sort of harmful or toxic substance has entered the body. If you want to throw up but are unable to, then you definitely need some medical attention but before that, there are several ways which you can try at home to induce yourself to throw up easily.</p>



<p>Food poisoning, indigestion and alcohol consumption are few instances where it is important to throw up so all the toxins come out of the body. But some people use forceful throwing up or forced vomiting to lose weight. This is a very harmful practice to do which affects the person physically and mentally. It is essential to consult a doctor before you take such steps so avoid any kind of complications in future.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Ways to easily and quickly throw up</h2>



<p>You will be shocked to know about these quick and easy methods which can induce throwing up. Throwing up is important to keep our bodies healthy and hence, there is nothing gross about it. So if you try these quick ways at home, you will not have to rush to a medical professional. However, you must make sure that these methods are only for the sole purpose of inducing vomiting when you are unable to, these are not for any of the other purposes:</p>



<ol class="wp-block-list"><li><strong>Use your finger</strong></li></ol>



<p>This is the most commonly used conventional way of throwing up. We have all seen our parents and grandparents do it. No matter how gross and disgusting it may sound, it actually works. But you have to take some precautions before doing it.&nbsp;</p>



<p>First of all, wash your fingers nicely so prevent germs from getting inside. Then take the index finger and middle finger inside your mouth and try pushing it down the throat until you feel gagged. Reaching the end of the tongue, you will feel a reflex from the body. It will be good if you are kneeling down to throw up already. Once you feel the nausea, throw up instantly. Do remember that you will have to cut your nails to avoid any kind of scratch or injury in the throat. Since this method is the most trusted and easiest, if it doesn&#8217;t happen the first time, try doing it again.</p>



<ol class="wp-block-list" start="2"><li><strong>Make warm salt water</strong></li></ol>



<p>For this method, you have to take a glass of water and mix it with salt. A teaspoon or two of salt shall be enough. If you feel it is not enough, you can add one teaspoon of salt more. Mix it nicely with a spoon. Once the solution is ready, drink the entire glass of solution in one go to induce vomiting.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Since the salt contains sodium, the natural electrolyte balance of the body will shift creating nausea. However, you will have to wait for around 30 minutes to let the salt water do its thing. After half an hour, you will feel dizziness and nausea, throw up as soon as you feel like it. The entire salt water will be expelled from your body. Remember to keep the water lukewarm while adding the salt.</p>



<ol class="wp-block-list" start="3"><li><strong>Toothbrush can be of great help</strong></li></ol>



<p>Toothbrush is a great way of inducing vomiting when you don&#8217;t want to use your fingers. Since some people may find using fingers to induce vomiting as disgusting and gross, they can take the help of a toothbrush. The process of using fingers is more or less same as using a toothbrush.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Furthermore, to use a toothbrush to induce vomiting, you have to first soak it in water to soften the bristles and then rub the toothbrush at the back of your tongue, as soon as you feel the reflex, throw up. But don&#8217;t brush too hard or too deep in the throat because you might end up hunting yourself. It is quite beneficial for women who are pregnant and are feeling nausea.&nbsp;</p>



<ol class="wp-block-list" start="4"><li><strong>Gargling with egg whites</strong></li></ol>



<p>Who would have thought that eggs can be used to induce throwing up. Even reading about the method may disgust you, let alone doing it. But it is what it is. Imagine if just reading about it makes you want to puke, what will the results be when you actually do it.&nbsp;</p>



<p>To perform this method, firstly take 2-3 raw eggs and separate the egg whites from the egg. The smell of raw eggs may sound disgusting and unpleasant but that is what is going to help you throw up. Once you have the egg whites in the bowl, you have to gargle for 1 minute.&nbsp; The smell and taste of the egg whites will automatically make up puke. If this doesn&#8217;t happen the first time, repeat again.</p>

<p>Who doesn’t love a flawless face? Well we all do!</p>



<p>Skin Care is important but what compliments it more is &#8211; the right makeup look. Carefully highlighted cheekbones, skillfully achieved contour lines, this is art. But the most important factor here is &#8211; base. If your base isn’t flawless, your makeup will eventually start to look dull and cakey. Do we want that? Never.&nbsp;</p>



<p>A perfect base starts with foundation. If your foundation isn’t in place, it is definitely going to ruin your overall look. And therefore we’ve come up with our best tips that will help your foundation, breathe and your makeup, glow!</p>



<p>Take notes!</p>



<ol class="wp-block-list"><li><strong>Get your primer</strong></li></ol>



<p>The texture of our skin on various parts of our faces varies in hydration. Unfortunately, as the base goes on, some of these differences are emphasised, which takes us to the point of putting on a primer before the base.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Primers form a barrier between the skin and the base, softening the texture and filling large pores so that the foundation can easily smooth down. Plus, to help balance out the texture as well, several hydrating primers hydrate dry skin patches.</p>



<p>If your skin is&nbsp; oily, especially around the T-zone area, you can use an oil-based primer.&nbsp; Note, you don&#8217;t have to use the whole face with one primer. With the proper primer, target particular issues and your base will look clean.</p>



<ol class="wp-block-list" start="2"><li><strong>Blend it baby!</strong></li></ol>



<p>Blend. Blend. Blend.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Once you are done with the application, it is IMPORTANT that you blend it nicely. Let this step take some extra time. Use this as your mantra to a flawless base.&nbsp;</p>



<p>The best approach would be to use a damp beauty blender. Don’t rub your foundation on to your face, follow a dabbing motion and push the foundation into your skin. It’ll take time but it’ll be worth the shot.</p>



<ol class="wp-block-list" start="3"><li><strong>Is the shade right for your skin tone?</strong></li></ol>



<p>A wrong foundation shade will totally ruin your makeup look, because if it is too orange, it will make your skin look grey. It is also important to ensure that the base is the best fit for your skin tone.</p>



<p>“The best way to test a foundation shade is in natural daylight, swatch it from the top of your cheek to your jawline to ensure it&#8217;s the perfect tone throughout the face”, says Amy Conway, BB Pro Artist at Bobbi Brown.</p>



<ol class="wp-block-list" start="4"><li><strong>Less is more</strong></li></ol>



<p>Avoid adding too many layers of foundation. Most of us assume that applying foundation all over the face will give a better look, but this is not necessarily the case.&nbsp;</p>



<p>“For me, foundation should only be applied where needed. It is used to even out the skin tone and applied directly to the areas of concern (redness, pigmentation, shadows and blemishes) then blended out across the good skin,” says Florrie White, makeup artist who has worked on the faces of celebrities such as Emilia Clarke and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.</p>



<ol class="wp-block-list" start="5"><li><strong>Prep prep prep</strong></li></ol>



<p>Prepare your skin nicely before applying any makeup product on it. Making sure your skin is adequately prepared will help you achieve a perfect finish easily. The foundation will stick to the skin and settle into patches if your skin is dry.</p>



<p>The key here is to be patient. “I apply any serums, moisturiser and eye creams before applying foundation and let them sit for a minute &#8211; which is a good time to wash your sponge! You need to let your skincare product rest and sink into the skin first. If you don’t, too much product will cause product pilling, which is when the product rolls into little balls,” says Liz.</p>



<p>It’s necessary to make sure you prep your skin every day. “Always clean every remnant of yesterday’s makeup and pollution the night before, moisturised and any concerns treated. Foundation blends much smoothly onto well prepped skin.” recommends Florrie.</p>



<p>She further adds, “If you are retouching your foundation at the end of the day, a light spritz of a hydrating skin spray first will prep and pep up the skin surface so the fresh application of foundation will blend easily in; avoiding a thick, cakey base.”</p>



<ol class="wp-block-list" start="6"><li><strong>Set your makeup</strong></li></ol>



<p>Baking is important.&nbsp;</p>



<p>If you want your makeup to last all day, it is important that you bake it. “Normally I use a powder puff and press a loose powder into the T-zone as this is the most oily area.” Liz says.</p>



<p>Florrie says “you can choose a foundation which also has properties which work with your skin concerns albeit oily, dry, combination and/or acne”, meaning you can set your base accordingly.</p>



<p>“I prefer to use blotting paper to remove excess dewiness while avoiding adding another layer of a product to your skin.” She adds.</p>



<ol class="wp-block-list" start="7"><li><strong>Pick the right tools</strong></li></ol>



<p>“As a makeup artist I turn to sponges to press off any excess after for more of a matte finish. But as a top tip, whether you prefer brushes or sponges, always press your foundation in with your fingertips after application. Nothing imitates skin more than your own hands, so by pressing the face gently this will melt the makeup into the face for an even more natural look.” says Amy, a famous make-up artist.&nbsp;</p>



<ol class="wp-block-list" start="8"><li><strong>Clean your brushes</strong></li></ol>



<p>Forgetting to wash your makeup tools could cause a spread of bacteria, resulting in spots and a dull complexion. After every use, both Liz and Florrie recommend washing the brushes and beauty sponges.</p>



<p>“Brushes and sponges will harbour bacteria so important to keep clean. Forget special potions and cleaners, I use an antibacterial washing up liquid as it will remove the oil from the foundation easily. Foundation brushes should be synthetic so washing these in washing up liquid is fine. For real hair brushes I treat them like hair and shampoo and condition,” says Liz.</p>
